首先我们来看看常考的几种逗号的错误用法：

A

介词前后不应使用逗号

✘ 错误用法：

1.Ada Lovelace and Charles Babbage were two of the most influential figures, inthe history of computer science and mathematics.

2.Ada Lovelace and Charles Babbage were two of the most influential figures in,the history of computer science and mathematics.

在这些例子中，逗号不应该出现在介词"in"之前或之后。

✔ 正确用法：

1.Ada Lovelace and Charles Babbage were two of the most influential figures inthe history of computer science and mathematics.

这个句子没有在介词"in"前后使用逗号，符合正确的用法。

♦例外情况：非必要性从句中的介词

唯一的例外是当介词用来开始一个非必要性从句时，这时可以在介词前使用逗号。

✔正确用法：

1.Although Ada Lovelace lived nearly a century before the first computer was built, she, in a way thatwas unique among nineteenth-century mathematicians, foresaw many of the modern computer's capabilities.

第一个形容词修饰第二个形容词时不应使用逗号

如果第一个形容词修饰第二个形容词，或者如果这两个形容词之间不能用“and”分隔，则不需要使用逗号。

复合形容词

✘错误用法：

这个句子也显然是不完整的，因为“Influential figures in the history of computer science and mathematics”不是一个完整的句子。

“Self”词之前或之后不应使用逗号

“Self”词（如myself, itself, themselves等）用于强调特定的人或物。在这些词之前或之后不应使用逗号，除非是为了设置非必要从句或分隔两个独立的句子。

✘ 错误用法：

1.The Tower of London, which lies within the Borough of Tower Hamlets, is separated from the city, itself by a stretch of open space.

2.The Tower of London, which lies within the Borough of Tower Hamlets, is separated from the city, itself,by a stretch of open space.

✔ 正确用法：

1.The Tower of London, which lies within the Borough of Tower Hamlets, is separated from the city itself by a stretch of open space.

在正确的例子中，没有在“city”和“itself”之间或“itself”之后使用逗号。

大多数情况下，在强调代词之后使用逗号也是不正确的

✘错误用法：

1.The Tower of London, which lies within the Borough of Tower Hamlets, is separated from the city itself,by a stretch of open space.

特殊情况：在FANBOYS连接词之前或设置非必要从句时可以使用逗号。

当逗号用于设置非必要从句或在FANBOYS连接词之前分隔两个独立句时，逗号的使用是正确的。

✔正确用法：

1.The Tower of London is separated from the city itself, but it is nevertheless one of London's most popular tourist attractions.

在这个例子中，逗号加上“but”用于分隔两个独立的句子，第一个句子恰好以“itself”结尾。
