2023-2024学年IHBB亚洲区的首次线上竞赛在上周末经过两天角逐,已经落下帷幕。有初次参赛的同学反馈线上强手如云,而与各国各地区的选手切磋也是非常难得的体验。本年度的下一场IHBB线上竞赛即将于2024年5月4日-5月5日举办,同样是周末两天时间,感兴趣的同学们可以在4月20日之前进行线上报名。
与此同时,许多队伍和选手也已经在备战接下来将要举行的几场IHBB亚洲区线下比赛,我们为大家整理了同学们比较关心的几个热门赛区:

第一季度的比赛多数会采用赛题集Beta。虽然官网目前仍只有秋季的Gamma组赛前学习指南(与美国赛区NHBB的高中组Question Set C相同), 但美国赛区NHBB已经公布了Question Set B的要点指南,有计划参赛的同学们可以提前浏览,作为备战亚洲区Beta组的参考。以下是详细内容:

2.James Cook(1728-1779) is credited as the first European to make contact with the Hawaiian islands and the eastern coast of Australia. He was fatally stabbed after he attempted to hold the Hawaiian Chief, Kalaniʻōpuʻu, in exchange for a longboat.
3.The Magna Cartawas a 1215 document signed by King John of Englandin response to the demands of his barons.
4.Queen Victoria(1819-1901) was the longest-reigning British monarch until she was surpassed by Elizabeth II in September 2015.

12.Otto von Bismarck(1815-1898) was a key figure in the unification of Germany in 1871 and served as the nation’s first chancellor.
13.Hernando de Soto(1500-1542) was a Spanish explorer who was the first European to cross the Mississippi River.
14.Philip V’s ascension as king following the death of Charles II in 1700 led to the War of the Spanish Succession.
15.Hermann Göring(1893-1946) was a prominent figure of the Nazi Party who served as the Supreme Commander of the Luftwaffe, the German air force.
16.Anne Boleyn(1501-1536) was the second wife of Henry VIII and mother of Elizabeth I. Boleyn was the first wife of Henry VIII to be executed, the second being Catherine Howard.
17.Leif Erikson(970s - 1018 or 1025) was a Norse Viking who was believed to have been the first European to reach the Americas.
18.Niels Bohr(1885-1962) was a Danish physicist who theorized that electrons move around an atom’s nucleus in fixed orbits.
19.Jacques-Louis David produced one of the most commonly reproduced images of Napoleon Bonaparte(1769-1821) with a paintingdepicting him on horseback crossing the Alps.
20.The Socialist Republic of Romaniadissolved as a result of the 1989 Christmas Revolution, which included the overthrow and execution of dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu.
Latin American and Caribbean History
1.The 1828 Treaty of Montevideo secured the independence of Uruguayafter a three-year conflict with Brazil and the dissolution of its federation with Argentina.
2.The GuatemalanRevolutionended in a 1954 coup d’état which resulted in the overthrow of Jacobo Árbenz.

4.The War of the Triple Alliancewas fought between Paraguay and a union that consisted of Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay.
5.Brazilgained independence from Portugal on September 7, 1822 under the leadership of Emperor Pedro I.
U.S. History
1.To this day, Wiliam Henry Harrison(1773-1841) has served the shortest term as president of the United States, only serving a month in office.
2.In 1995, the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City was the target of a domestic terrorist truck bombing.
3.The Scopes Monkey Trialwas a 1925 legal case which saw lawyers Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryan argue about whether John Scopes should be prosecuted for teaching human evolution in a state-funded school.

10.Eugene V. Debs(1855-1926) unsuccessfully ran for president of the United States as a five-time candidate for the Socialist Party of America. He ran for president for the last time in 1920 while in prison.
