How to better support vulnerable individuals in the society? This has always been a puzzle for all governments. Mean-tested welfare programs refer to programs that target supporting certain people if they meet specific requirements. For instance, people with income lower than a certain amount or people with disabilities. While universal basic income refers to the program that provide a certain amount of income to every citizen equally. What do you think as the best way to improve social welfare?
#5经济Economics
Resolved: The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has improved the quality of life for the citizens of member countries.
东南亚国家联盟(东盟)改善了成员国公民的生活质量。
ASEAN is a political and economic union of 10 Southeast Asian countries. With some of fastest growing nations in the world, ASEAN has started to play a larger role in regional developments and collaboration. However, ASEAN has also been criticized for its inaction towards human right abuses within its sphere. After decades of existence, the question has arisen whether ASEAN has actually improved the quality of life for those citizens within.
