写论文第一步:选题

你以为选题就随便定个合眼缘的题目,然后就开始写了?   选的不好可能中途被推翻要重新写,选题太普通又拿不到高分. 很多同学往往在第一步的时候就犯了难。

从兴趣到题目

把感兴趣的主题浏览一遍,如果有了一定方向可以直接到Google scholar里查对应的参考论文。

对于特定领域的研究计划,可以直接搜标题 例如:"philosophers index"、"psychological abstract"等。 当确定了大致范围之后,就可以去找更多的数据资料缩小题目范围。

如果是dissertation这种重要的论文,在确定题目之前要先找容易到手的论文资料。 如果选定了题目但是资料不好找,就真的得重新来了。

怎么快速找到topic

对什么东西感兴趣,漫画、追剧、数字等等都可以,越具体越好。 然后去找兴趣点当中自己不知道的东西:起源、技术、现实场景下的应用等等。

想往什么方向走:尽可能多的找数据,有哪个方面是让你大开眼界为之震撼的东西?

宽泛的东西学术化:把教材的课后题目,和兴趣点关联起来。

和教授沟通:要和教授沟通,听取老师的意见。看自己拟定的topic是不是可行?千万不要盲目开写!

从General 到Specific

像"Free will in Tolstoy"、"The history of commercial aviation"这种就明显太过宽泛了。

光要搜的论文就太多了!所以要必须让topic更明确、细致

例如

1、Free will in Tolstoy

2、The conflict of free will and inevitability in Tolstoy's description of three battles in War and PeaceThe history of commercial aviation

3、The contribution of the military in developing the DC-3in the early years of commercial aviation

让topic更有意思的方法   给topic命名

  • I am trying to learn about/working on/studying....
  • I am studying the causes of the disappearance of large North American mammals...
  • I am working on Lincoln's beliefs about predestination and their influence on his reasoning...

加上研究的questions

  • I am studying/working on...
  • I am studying the causes of the disappearance of large North American mammals
  • Because I want to find out whether they were hunted to extinction....

赋予questions一些动机

1、I am studying the causes of the disappearance of large North American mammals

2、because I want to find out whether the earliest peoples hunted them to extinction,

3、in order to help my reader understand whether native peoples lived in harmony with nature or helped destroy it.

最后总结下来就是:

总结

1. what you are writing about-l am working on the topic of.

2.what you don't know about it-because I want to find out.

3.why you want your reader to know and care about it-in order to help my reader understand better...
