2023年ED2学校完整名单公布

在美国有早期决策2政策的学院和大学中，许多是文理学院。例如贝茨学院、鲍登学院、科尔比学院、汉密尔顿学院、哈弗福德学院、米德尔伯里学院、波莫纳学院、史密斯学院和斯沃斯莫尔学院等学校是2023 年USNews排名前 25 名“最佳文理学院”，为申请人提供了ED1和ED2两轮早决策。

但也有一些是2023年USNews排名前50名“最佳综合大学”，包括卡内基梅隆大学、乔治华盛顿大学、约翰霍普金斯大学、纽约大学、塔夫茨大学、杜兰大学、芝加哥大学、范德堡大学、维克森林大学和圣路易斯华盛顿大学等。

ED 1 的截止日期通常在 11 月初。学生通常会在 12 月中旬左右获得他们的录取决定——无论他们是被接受、推迟审理还是被拒绝。因此，他们会在提交常规决策申请之前已经知道自己ED1的录取结果。

ED2 的截止日期通常在 1 月初（尽管截止日期可能会有所不同）。因此，学生通常是在提交常规决定申请RD轮的同时提交他们的早期决定 ED2 申请。

总体而言，美国高度选择性大学的招生人员对早期决定ED1的申请者更为宽容。这是为什么呢？因为当招生人员评估早期决定ED1申请人的候选人资格时，学校并不知道后面还会有多少人来递交申请，所以审理ED1时可能更宽松。

而在评估早期决策ED2 候选人时，他们已经知道他们的早期决策ED 1、早期决策 ED2 和常规决策RD申请人池子的规模和强度。因此，虽然招生人员确实欣赏学生做出具有约束力的入学承诺——无论是在早期决定ED 1 还是早期决定ED 2 期间——但他们更欣赏早期决定 1 的申请者。情况也是如此，因为他们知道他们的 ED2 申请人很可能已经申请了另一所学校 ED1 并被推迟或拒绝录取。

如果想知道早期决策ED 2 与常规决策RD相比是否有固有的优势，那么肯定有。招生人员仍然重视这种承诺，以提高他们的入学率（yield rate)。但早期决策ED 1 和早期决策ED 2 并非生而平等，ED2的录取率通常比ED1低不少。
