学习雅思写作必经的三个阶段

今天机构P老师为大家分析学习雅思写作必经的三个阶段:

思维(写什么)→结构(以什么形式写)→语言(用什么写)

前一阶段都是后一阶段的铺垫,没有前一阶段的学习,学习后面则没有意义。

没有学会分析题目,就谈不上段落结构,因为一写就会离题;没有搞懂段落结构,就谈不上高级句式,因为用再高级的句式,如果结构不对,也会导致TR不超过6分。

以下面这个题目为例:

Many people say smoking should be banned, and some say it is not a good idea. What is your opinion on this?

比如一学生是这样写的:

Smoking can cause death. It is commonly accepted that smoking can lead to unhealthy living habits.These contribute to the development of certain diseases, which eventually results in death.

这个段落,以因果线性思维连接,语言7+,但是思维只有5.5,一篇典型的语言不错,但被论证思维拉低的文章。

雅思大作文开头段的写法

英语写作首段,时常会通过描述一个大众激烈讨论的事件来引入主题。那么这样一个句子可以怎么写呢?老师来分享三个简单但实用的句型:

① Sth. is hotly debated

Tower’s story is far from uncommon, as the impact of negative reviews is hotly debated among customers, businesses and Google.
(Tower的故事并不罕见,至于差评会带来什么影响,顾客、企业和谷歌对此进行了激烈的讨论。)

② Sth. is a hot/heated issue

The impact of leaving the European Union on Britain’s economy may be the most heated issue of all as the referendum on June 23rd approaches.

(在6月23日公投临近之际,脱欧对英国经济的影响或许是最热门的话题。)

③ Debate rages over/about/on sth

Debate rages as Facebook prepares to say whether Trump can return.

(在Facebook即将宣布是否允许特朗普回归平台之际,人们对此进行了激烈的讨论。)

雅思作文最弱的项:连贯与衔接

5-6分段的作文,文章里总会充满了变幻莫测的短句,比如这句中文:

「儿子考试不及格,他非常生气,结果妻子和他吵了起来。」

5-分的学生会写成三句话:

His son failed the school exam. He was very angry. His wife started to argue with him.

6分的学生会使用连词连成长句:

His son failed the school exam, so he was very angry. Then, his wife started to argue with

him.

但同学们有没有发现,三个句子里的主语都不一样,分别是his son、he、his wife,也就是说句子之间的重心变来变去,以连贯的英文标准来说,这样写是很讨厌的!

如果实现了语言和语义同时连贯,写出7+的句子,应该是:

His anger over his son's failure in the exam prompted him to have an argument with his

wife.

一个主语贯穿始终,并以名词化作主语,这是雅思评分标准Coherence and Cohesion的核心要求。

雅思写作6分以下的TR是怎样的?

写作分数总在5-6之间波动。原因在于审题不清,一个主体段写偏,或两个主体段都写偏,TR的分数出来是不一样的。

考官看到有离题的段落,就直接在时间下面的框框勾上“off-topic”了。比如以下这题:

Prison is the only truly effective form of punishment, because it separates criminals from society. To what extent do you support this view?

观点①:不同意,因为其他的惩罚措施比如罚款、社区服务就可以起作用,不需要囚禁。

观点②:不同意,因为如果把违法的人都放进监狱,会造成国家财政的巨大压力,拖慢经济的发展。

观点③:同意,因为囚犯在狱中会改造,出来后会造福社会,对国家有利。

观点④:不同意,因为监狱也不是每个人都可以进的,只有严重违法的人才会被送到监狱。
