题目
Some people think watching TV is bad for children in every way. Others think it is good for developing children as they grow up. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
201024:Some people think that the detailed criminal description on newspapers and TV programs has bad consequence, so this kind of information should be restricted on media. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
190216:Nowadays, children spend a lot of time watching TV and playing computer games. Some people believe this has negative effects on children's mental abilities. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
180210:It is believed by many that those people who read for pleasure are better in imagination and language skills than those who prefer to watch TV. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
170318:Some people believe that children can learn effectively by watching TV and they should be encouraged to watch TV at home and school. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
一、看电视对孩子来说,全都是不好的;
Spending too much time in front of TV is certainly a bad thing for children. In the first place, it may affect their health. Actually many children become short-sighted simply because they watch too much TV. Besides, sitting in front of TV for too long will also rob children of time for other physical activities, which in turn will lead to such diseases as diabetes and obesity. Another bad thing about watching TV is that children may become isolated from the outside world. Without adequate interaction with other children, they do not know how to get along with people, and this will make them less competitive in job market when they grow up. Yet this does not mean children should be prevented from watching TV completely. In fact, if properly handled, watching TV may be beneficial for children’s development, both intellectually and spiritually. From TV, children can acquire a great variety of knowledge about history, animals, environment, culture, to name just a few. Research shows that children who watch TV always excel those who do not in terms of language skills, too. In addition, as TV programs often try to tell the viewers some moral lessons in vivid ways, it is comparatively easy for children who watch TV to learn how to tell right from wrong and therefore become spiritually strong. It is, therefore, an overstatement to claim that watching TV is bad for children in every way. But watching too much TV is definitely very bad. So teachers and parents should see to it that children watch the right kind of TV programmes, and set a limit on children’s TV time to make sure that they do not watch TV more than is good for them.
