这是一道双边类大作文，聊的是产品应该更便宜还是更耐用。双边类的题目，需要对每个观点分别表达同意或反对，最终的结论就是我的立场，可以是中立（双方都同意或都反对），也可以是单边支持某一方立场。审题时注意两点，一是“last”这边是指持久/耐用，如果理解错了基本上整个文章也就跑偏了。二是“more important”有一个比较关系存在，论证中要体现为什么比另一方更加重要。下面，月半鸭和大家一起来看下具体观点。

首先来看商品应该尽可能耐用的原因，有三方面。

一是这样更加环保节能。商品在生产过程当中会消耗大量资源并产生废气或废水，并且被废弃后的垃圾处理也是一个环保难题。如果这个商品更耐用，可以减少它被废弃和替换的几率，人们不需要频繁替换意味着对商品的需求量能减少，进而整体消耗会降低。

二是能给企业带来更好的名声，一个质量上乘的产品能给消费者留下更好的印象和口碑，从而消费者对生产企业更有信心并更愿意为期产品付费。

三是消费者可能可以节约更多购买费用，虽然单个更耐用的产品一般价格会更贵，但是消费者不断重复购买质量较差的同类产品累计支付的费用可能会更加昂贵。

然后再来看商品应该更加便宜的原因，有两方面。

一是便宜的商品存在大量的市场需求。绝大多数的人经济实力并不足以让他们支付昂贵的费用，但这个商品对他们来说可能依旧是必要的。对他们来说，商品质量再好但价格太贵并没有意义，能否承担的起可能是首要考虑的要素之一。

二是有些快速易耗品人们更关注性价比。在人们观念中这些商品本身就是一次性或容易损耗的，强调耐用并没有意义，价格便宜更能促进商品的销量。

Whether items should be made more sustainable or more affordable is a highly contentious question of the present day. In this essay, I will explore this subject from both perspectives and then explain why, in my opinion, the arguments for keeping their prices low are more compelling.

There are others who think that the positives of purchasing high-quality goods significantly outweigh their negatives. People would feel more comfortable putting their money in a well-made gadget, which is the primary reason for this notion. Research has also demonstrated that a corporation with a reputation for quality rather than pricing generates greater consumer confidence and purchases. Despite manufacturing cheaper vehicles, Toyota places a premium on the quality of its vehicles' construction.

Others, however, believe that making things economical is more vital than ensuring their quality. It is sometimes maintained that consumers will still want to acquire something even if it is of inferior quality and has a short lifespan. People frequently hold this view due to the fact that the construction of many items has remained unchanged despite recent price increases. A second argument is that when purchasing a product at a low price, many people are aware that they are getting an item that will only last a few months or perhaps years. For instance, a smartphone's battery capacity diminishes with time, rendering it ineffective after a few years.

In conclusion, I see value in both sides of the debate. On balance, though, I believe that the need to reduce the price is justifiable. This is because, during periods of crisis, it becomes more necessary to create a product that is affordable to the majority of individuals than to create remarkable products for a select minority.
